CHF Canada’s Vision Summit

CHF Canada’s Vision Summit

NACHA was pleased to join with over 70 Housing Co-op Leaders in Toronto at the two-day CHF Canada Vision Summit earlier this year, to share ideas for the future of Canada’s co-operative housing movement. Our own Kyle Taylor (Casa Housing Services, Assiniboia Housing Co-op), gave a passionate address to those assembled that I encourage you to read and share with your members for inspiration.

At the CHF Canada AGM held in Victoria this past June there was a Vision Panel moderated by Vision Summit participant Darrah Teitel of Abiwin Housing Co-op that outlined Canada’s most urgent housing issues and challenged us to promote and expand co-op housing as a smart and successful solution.  The Delegates at the conference resoundingly passed a resolution approving a National Vision Framework which supports the growth of co-operative housing under the banner “Co-op Housing for All”.

CHF Canada has recently finalized and posted the Vision Panel videos from the 50th anniversary plenary at the annual meeting.  In Addition to Darrah, they feature panelists Margaret Pfoh (Aboriginal Housing Mgmt Assoc.), Shachi Kurl (Angus Reid Institute), and Paul Kershaw (Generation Squeeze).  NACHA will showcase the video at our GM on December 1st but we wanted to invite you to share the links with your members and on your various social media channels.
